This bike was bought out of both curiosity and as an evolution to my previous bike, a K4 750, which was also fairly modified. I wanted a bike that would allow me to continue to learn more about track riding, whilst being highly versatile on the road. (see more)
Nearly all of the modifications are functional, and there to improve some aspect of an already brilliant road & track bike. The aim has always been to better the handling, acceleration and stopping ability of the bike.
The bike has had a stage-1 tune by the brilliant chaps down at Crescent Suzuki, including fitting a Power Commander, race air filter, putting the bike on their dyno and producing a custom map for the PC. This light tune-up has yielded confirmed results of 170 rear-wheel BHP, with a very linear and smooth power delivery, and a great torque curve. At the track, this bike pulls, hard. The bike has also been down-geared, giving it more acceleration, which was already very strong, it now pulls like freight train, even two-up.
In the future, there may be more chassis enhancements such as lighter wheels, and also perhaps some Brembo SBK discs I have in storage, waiting for the right wheels. For now, I’m very happy and love every moment I spend at the track on it.
