MCE 2010 British Superbikes Silverstone
The riders, bikes and tyres of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship were tested to their limits in horrendous weather at Silverstone, as several title contenders slipped up in the difficult conditions. For the Title Fighters it was a day of opportunities lost and gained. The big winner of the day was Josh Brookes as he took a double podium to move within eleven points of series leader Tommy Hill, who had two relatively poor positions in eighth and fourth. However it was accidents that spoilt the day of two other Title Fighters as Michael Rutter followed up his race one win by crashing in race two. Similarly Michael Laverty ended race one in a strong championship position after finishing third, before he too crashed out of the atrocious conditions in race two. James Ellison took his Swan Honda through the typhoon to win the second race to great acclaim.
