Maxxis UK Motocross Round 5 Foxhill
Over 3,500 race fans witnessed exciting racing from start to finish at the fifth round of the championship which was held at the spectacular Foxhill circuit yesterday. It turned out to be a "good" bad day for MX2 series leader Zach Osborne who managed to limit the potential damage from a heavy crash in Timed Training which left the American dazed and in 36th position going to the gate. Clearly not his usual forceful style in moto one and two he lost 21 points in the two twenty minute plus two laps motos to his main contender, Jake Nicholls, with a fourth and tenth place finish, whilst the KTM rider took two comfortable wins. Going into the third and final moto, it looked as if Osborne would have to surrender his red plate as the series leader, but after taking a superb holeshot from the very outside gate he romped to a start to finish win and this time it was Nicholls playing catch up from a mid pack start. Lap by lap ,he worked his way through the pack and eventually snatch second in the race on the final lap from Bryan MacKenzie. However, the drama didn't end there, as Samsung Yamaha rider, Neville Bradshaw was heading for his best result of the season with a provisional second overall until the very last lap when a "coming together" with Scott Elderfield knocked the South African completely off the podium.
