2011 MCE BSB Round 2 Oulton Park #1
Having missed the brands opener (silly me) the sun gods were feeling generous again for Oulton. Another great weekend all round and the usual twists and turns in fortunes for the teams and riders but what ultimately makes it exciting, those end of season reviews already have enough material to choose from! The 2nd superbike race was an event in itself, Josh Brookes spectacular crash was equalled by the lucky escape of Stuart Easton narrowly missing having a bike land on his head bringing out the pace car and unfortunately reducing his lead but then the script writers introduced John Hopkins into the story who went on to win, one of my memories of the weekend was seeing Hopper on the top step of the podium looking so proud and happy. Race of the weekend was the Superstock 1000, Brands was a fantastic race and Oulton delivered as well with Danny Buchan showing impressive form right from winter testing, a star of the future for me, the finish as Tris Palmer pipped Danny to the line had the GBmoto team going nuts in pitlane and I was in the middle of it, lots of emotion which almost caught me unawares as my camera was switched off at the time!
