Despite a windy and then wet start to round 2 of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Thruxton Sunday cleared and the first race of the season got underway beneath blue skies. Shakey and Crutchlow took 1st and 2nd respectively in Race 1 but traded places for race 2 with Rutter coming in 3rd for both races. Due to a major crash in race 2 it was red flagged and a second start was run. (see more)
Having spent two cold wet nights (again!) sleeping in our cars your LB photographers were very glad to finally be out shooting in the sunshine on Sunday. It makes far better pictures than snow! But the good weather didn't suit everyone. Having done a fantastic job of qualifying 16th in the wet on a track he'd never ridden before LB's Sam Middlemas had been hoping for a wet race for the Superstock 600s. Despite a dry race Sam still finished in the middle of the field taking a very respectable 23rd.
