In totally contrasting conditions to the snow that caused postponement of round one of the Bennetts British Superbikes Championship five weeks ago. The rescheduled races took place at Brands Hatch weekend just gone in glorious hot/sunny conditions. After a bout of bad weather at the previous opening rounds, our guys out there in the field were lapping up the sun and mud-free conditions! The end result is these series of amazing photo galleries. Cal Crutchlow powered through the pain barrier to take third place, adrift of Shane Byrne and Tom Sykes, and then took a victory. Shane Byrne, the local boy from sittingbourne took another storming win in the first race. Chris Burns won the Daily Star Cup (Privateers Superbike) on his MV Agusta, finishing ahead of Martin Jessopp and John Laverty. Haslam charged into the lead of the second race and Crutchlow, Sykes and Byrne in hot pursuit. Just before the race was half way through the leader, Haslam made an error by running straight on at Surtee's, allowing Crutchlow, Sykes & Byrne to dice for the lead over the remainder. Malcom Ashley crashed badly, bringing the safety car out so the medics could attend to him. Cal Crutchlow took the eventual win for HM Plant Honda, followed by Byrne and Camier.
Aside from the racing, the LB community should feel proud knowing that it's now sponsoring various teams in the BSB paddock by helping to provide photographic services from our brilliant and widely-acclaimed through-out the industry photographers. As you can see from the opening gallery image, LB is now teaming up with Red Viper Racing who compete in the premier Superbike class. More announcements to come!
